Carmo Park / Sao paulo

The Carmo Park is a municipal park located in the namesake district of Carmo Park, in the eastern region of the Brazilian city of Sao Paulo.

In the Park headquarters building has colonial architecture, there is a set of lakes and a whole garden area. Has vegetation composed of eucalypt plantations, remnants of Atlantic Forest, swamps, besides the lawns, influencie, orchard, woods of the cherry-Okinawa and a nursery for production of shrub species.




For those who like animals, the site has 135 species of fauna, being ten of reptiles, the example of the Lagarto forestry known as Pope-wind; in addition to seven of mammals and 118 of birds. The Herons, crested grebes, Martins-fishermen, ananaís irerês and make use of the lake. In metric corner, stands out the crack-iron-true, 'Blackbird and Canary-of-ground.


Attentive eyes observe several species of hummingbird flowers and birds blinging: sayacaâ tanager of fire had gone out-widow, i left-blue, end-end, swallow-and-had gone out of the hat-black and the singular woodcreeper savanna. Among mammals, there are records of brown brocket, sloth-of-three-finger, armadillos, spikey and caxinguelêsâ.

Since 1978, is held in the Park to traditional feast of cherry trees, to commemorate the tree symbol médium in Japan and that has become the brand of the Japanese community that lives in the region. All Years, occurs the practice of "hanami", ritual which consists in sit under the cherry trees and contemplate them for a long period.
