31 years ago we promoted the Brazil Day in New York since 1984 , on 46th Street , also known as Little Brazil , and 6th Avenue, Brazil's Day today occupies 25 blocks .

The festival began with a small group of Brazilians who wanted to celebrate Independence Day . Since then , it has become traditional in New York , and is now considered the largest ethnic event Manhattan , attracting a multicultural audience, representing the various socio- economic and cultural layers from all over the United States.

In 2012 , according to data from the Department of the New York Police , 1.5 million people came to Brazil the day , filling the area throughout the day . Brazil's Day is now one of the biggest street events in New York and the largest Brazilian event outside Brazil.

Brazil's Day is not only a celebratory festival, but also turned up in large barn identity and Brazilian communities. It is on this day that Brazilian , coming from all corners of the United States come together , becoming visible , attainable , united in the joy of displaying proud to be Brazilian and live feel far off , of belonging to a big family. 

The event also attracts a diverse audience of American and multicultural residents interested in Brazil or just curious , besides the tourists from various countries led by the beauty of the day. 

Brazil's Day in New York grows every year . 

Celebrating Independence Day , celebrated in fact, the Brazilian presence in the US, the expatriate often nameless number who came to work and hence sustains family left in Brazil , contributing to the growth of the country to which a day, we expect to return. 

The festival reinforces the identity of the Brazilian and provides a positive image of Brazil . The first step of the expatriate , to be legalized in the US, is returning to Brazil to review family and friends. It also turns into a great tourist potential , proudly discovering the four corners of the country .

Carnival is the main popular feast of Brazil, being the carnival in Rio de Janeiro the richest and most known, attracting thousands of national and foreign tourists. All years in Carnival time, the city of Rio de Janeiro breathes during five days an enviable air of joy. The cariocas forget problems and obligations and earn the giant dance show and magic.

The peak of the feast is the parade of the special group in the Marques De Sapucaã, where various Samba Schools are vying for the title of champion of the Carnival. Samba, vivid colors, fantasies breathtaking skyline and beautiful women are the main ingredients of this dispute grandiose.

Although initiated "officially" on Friday fat, street Carnival Carioca already begins in November when the samba schools of the city pass to make so-called "technical tests" in the Sambódromo. The Carnival has several possible origins, which lead us to the thousands of years before Christ. The word carnival may have its origin in the Latin expression "carrum novalis", used by the Romans to open its festivities. Or perhaps in the word "carnelevale", which means "goodbye to flesh," in the Milanese dialect, a reference to the beginning of the Christian Lent.
