The State Park of Jalapão / Tocantins / Brazil

To envisage a journey as a dispatch. The Jalapão is a set of five areas of conservation, which includes a state park and has 34 000 km² (greater that the states of Sergipe and Alagoas). The scenario is one of the most exuberant of Brazil: crystalline waterfalls, natural swimming pools, emerald-green, orange-like dunes and plateaus of up to 40 m in height. Even so, is still very little visited: were approximately 15 thousand tourists since 2001, Year of the creation of the park.





Where to Stay
There are two ways of staying in the Jalapão. The camping of Korubo Expeditions is located on the banks of the River, near the new attractions. But the comfortable tents only receive who purchase the package of six nights of the Agency. In Ponte Alta or Mateiros, the pousadas are very simple - the majority do not usually go beyond hot shower, bed and breakfast -, but their owners are the best storytellers history of the region.





Suggestions of roadmaps
2 days - with two days of travel, enjoy to the Waterfall of the old, with two falls over 20 meters in height. The other day, do the walk through the dunes Velha Waterfalls and dunes orange lettering of up to 40 meters - the feeling is being in the middle of the desert.

 4 days - with more time, go to the Fumaça Waterfall, easy access and with two falls. Enjoy to Fervedouro and Fervedouro of São Félix, crystalline wells, excellent for bathing.

The trekking until the Mirante da Serra of the Holy Spirit leads to the top of the walls that have formed the dunes of Jalapão.
